I’m loving rose gold at the moment. Which is funny, because a couple of years ago I remember having to conceal my disgust when a friend’s boyfriend gave her a ring made from the pink stuff.
But like so many trends before it – clogs, leggings, double denim to name just a few – it suddenly looks fresh again.
These are just some of the rose gold bits and bobs I’ve been eyeing up lately:
1. Bex Rox Onyx Ring, £155, www.Matches.com
2. Dominic Jones Thorn Studs, £160, www.Matches.com
3. Michael Kors Watch, £179, www.JohnLewis.com
4. Monica Vinader Square Facet Ring, £175, www.MonicaVinader.com
5. Solange Azagury-Partridge Heart of Gold Necklace, £7,200, www.Net-a-Porter.com
6. Laura Lee ‘L’amour Nous Unit’ Ring, £168, www.asos.com
Relative MO is really riding high on the PR wave at the moment. They have so many great clients, and at their press day, held in Somerset House, I was lucky enough to bump into one of them – Dominic Jones. He’s one of the sweetest people you could ever hope to meet – unassuming, modest, softly-spoken and enormously talented – and he kindly offered to talk me through his AW10 collection, the second of his career to date.
Made from silver and rose gold (which is looking so fresh right now in my opinion), this collection picks up where the last one left off. Last season he gave us fangs and claws, this season he gives us skeletons and skulls. Each piece is anatomically correct – made from casts of Dominic’s eBay-bought collection of animal bones (!) – and it’s often a bit of a challenge to figure out what exactly you’re looking at. Bat skull heart pendent? Scorpion tail bracelet? Croc-skull cuffs?
And I though eBay was all fake Fendi bags and obsolete gadgets!
You can buy Dominic’s current collection from Matches.com.
