Having frequented Kurt Geiger over the years for its mix of quality, great design, and mid-range (just about justifiable) prices, it felt right when I heard that the brand has just moved its production from Brazil to a factory in Italy – the very same factory in Italy where Miu Miu shoes are made.
The AW10 collection delivered exactly what I have come to expect from my favourite footwear label. I was squealing quietly (and kicking myself for forgetting my camera and having to resort to my crappy phone) when I saw how well the designers have done next season. Feast your eyes…
In another move that makes perfect sense the brand is launching a line of sunglasses. LOVE!
The bottom frames were my favourites. I was lucky enough to meet one of Kurt Geiger’s principal designs Nina Hjorth – who is as lovely as she is talented – and she told me these were inspired by a vintage pair of her mother’s (I can only imagine how much she must of loved that. I know mine would have!). Obviously great taste runs in the family.
I don’t think I’ve ever printed so many press day photos on Salute to Style before, which I guess goes to show just how highly I rated the work of Nina and the other KG designers. I’m saving up for multiple pairs as of now.
